S25 Edge 5G-Performance
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge chip uses a specialized architecture with specialized Qualcomm Oryon CPU cores. Specifically, it has two Prime cores that max out at 4.47GHz and six Performance cores maxing at 3.53GHz. This “for Galaxy” model provides a bit more in terms of clock speed for its prime cores than the base Snapdragon 8 Elite, maxing out at 4.32GHz for an incremental gain in top-end performance’
The Adreno 830 GPU handles the graphics work, based on a new, “sliced” architecture designed for better performance and efficiency. The Snapdragon 8 Elite also puts a strong focus on AI capability, with an even more power-efficient Hexagon NPU that provides a 45% improvement in performance and efficiency compared to its predecessor. It is designed to accommodate the newest on-device AI capabilities, including those within Galaxy AI.
Made with 3nm process technology, the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy is optimized for great performance with a focus on being more power-efficient.
S25 Edge 5G-Camera
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Main Camera. The highlight is a 200MP (f/1.7) wide-angle sensor, equipped with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF). This high-resolution sensor, often noted as the Samsung ISOCELL HP2 (1/1.3″ sensor size), is capable of producing exceptionally detailed images. While it doesn’t have a dedicated telephoto lens, Samsung utilizes the “Adaptive Pixel sensor” to achieve 2x “Optical Quality” zoom through in-sensor cropping, allowing for good quality zoomed-in shots without a separate lens. Digital zoom extends up to 10x.
Ultra-wide Camera: Accompanying the main sensor is a 12MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide lens, which has a 1/2.55″ sensor size and offers a 120-degree field of view. This lens also includes Auto Focus (AF), enabling capabilities like macro photography for detailed close-ups.
Front Camera
The front of the S25 Edge houses a 12MP (f/2.2) camera with Auto Focus, capable of capturing high-quality selfies and video calls.
Video Recording
The main camera can record video at impressive resolutions, including UHD 8K (7680 x 4320) at 30fps and 4K UHD at 120fps. For slow motion, it supports FHD at 240fps and UHD at 120fps.
Front Camera: The front camera supports 4K UHD video recording at 60fps.
Advanced Video Features: A notable feature, exclusive to the S25 Edge at launch but expected to roll out to other S25 models, is Log video recording support with both the front and rear cameras. This allows for footage with a wider dynamic range and more detail, ideal for post-production color grading. The phone also supports HDR10+ video recording and features Samsung Log video with wide dynamic range.
AI-Enhanced Features:
The camera system benefits from Samsung’s AI-enhanced ProVisual Engine and Object-aware Engine. These AI capabilities work to improve color accuracy, detail, and natural skin tones in photos, as well as optimizing for different lighting environments. Features like Audio Eraser and Auto Trim for videos are also supported, leveraging AI to enhance the multimedia experience.
S25 Edge 5G-Battery and Charging.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge carries a 3900 mAh (milliampere-hour) Li-Ion (Lithium-ion) non-removable battery.
Wired Charging (Super Fast Charging): The S25 Edge has 25W wired charging.
It utilizes Power Delivery (PD) 3.0 with Samsung’s own Programmable Power Supply (PPS) protocol for charging optimization.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge supports Wireless charging at 15W .
The S25 Edge is also notable in being “Qi2 Ready.” While it does accommodate the new Qi2 spec (which features a magnetic alignment system like Apple’s MagSafe), there are no internal magnets within the phone itself. To entirely realize Qi2’s magnetic alignment and possibly optimized charging, the users would have to take advantage of a supporting magnetic case. Otherwise, it just operates as a standard 15W Qi wireless charger.
S25 Edge supports 4.5W reverse wireless charging, or “Wireless PowerShare” as Samsung calls it. With this technology, the phone can charge other Qi-supported equipment wirelessly, such as wireless earbuds (e.g., Galaxy Buds), smartwatches, or even another phone .
