PROCESSOR
Tecno Spark 40 Pro+ is powered by the MediaTek Helio G200 processor, a chip based on the energy-efficient 6nm TSMC process. The octa-core CPU is arranged in a balance of performance and efficiency, with two high-performance Arm Cortex-A76 cores clocked up to 2.2GHz for intensive use, and six power-efficient Arm Cortex-A55 cores clocked up to 2.0GHz for general use and background tasks. For graphics, it depends on an Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU with a clock speed of 1.1GHz, which provides a moderate but perceptible boost in single-core graphics over its previous incarnation. Designed for mid-range gaming smartphones, the Helio G200 not only manages common applications seamlessly but also boasts MediaTek HyperEngine Gaming Enhancements. This feature set is intelligently optimizing the memory, GPU, and CPU to offer more power-efficient, smoother gaming performance by responding to the power and thermal status of the phone. Apart from that, the processor natively supports 200MP camera sensors and 12-bit DCG for enhanced HDR video, and it features an optimized Cat-13 4G LTE modem (but not 5G), along with Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2, making it a solid media consumption and daily driving force within its segment.
STORAGE & MEMORY
The Tecno Spark 40 Pro+ comes with 8GB physical RAM. It also has RAM expansion technology, whereby the users can virtually expand the RAM by a further 8GB (this can also be known as “Extended RAM” in some cases). What this means is that the phone can assign a portion of the internal storage to use as a temporary RAM, thereby increasing the available memory to 16GB. This can be especially helpful to users who have many apps open at a time or heavy gamers since it avoids slowdown and offers a smoother experience to the user.
The RAM type is LPDDR4X, which is a low-power, high-speed RAM used in most smartphones today.
Tecno Spark 40 Pro+ is available in two major internal storage options:
128GB
256GB
This offers a sufficient amount of choices to users, ranging from those that have mostly apps and a significant amount of media to those that require massive capacity to store pictures, videos, games, and massive files.
Storage type is UFS 2.2, a considerable step up from the previous eMMC storage. UFS 2.2 provides improved read and write performance, resulting in faster app launching, speedier file transfer, and a more responsive system in general.
Expandable Storage
For users needing even more storage, the Tecno Spark 40 Pro+ includes a dedicated microSDXC card slot. This permits extra storage space expansion, offering users the option to add hundreds, if not terabytes, of extra storage space for files and media without sacrificing dual SIM support.Overall, Tecno Spark 40 Pro+ is well-equipped in memory and storage, a robust 8GB physical RAM backed by another 8GB virtual RAM, speedy UFS 2.2 internal storage in 128GB or 256GB capacities, and the added benefit of expandable storage through microSDXC at the top. All these make it easy for the phone to respond to current mobile needs.
CAMERA
The Tecno Spark 40 Pro+ boasts a camera setup that should deliver decent photographic prowess at its price, greatly supplemented by a sequence of AI enhancements.
The primary rear camera boasts a 50MP wide-angle PDAF lens, which captures crisp and clear shots across a variety of lighting conditions, and is accompanied by a supporting lens. In addition to better lighting of dark places, it also has Dual-LED flash. For video recording, the phone also records in 1440p (2K) and 1080p (Full HD) at 30 fps, especially with gyro-EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) to stabilize and make smoother video recordings even when one-hand videos are taken. Tecno has invested heavily in AI functionality in its camera, such as an AI RAW domain algorithm to improve sharpness in extreme lighting, AI Eraser 2.0 to easily erase objects or individuals from shots, and AI Image Extender to carefully examine textures and zoom images 10%-40%. Also, AI Sharpness Plus is used to smooth out image tones, FlashSnap captures crisp shots of moving subjects, and HDR provides greater light and shadow information. In selfies, the front-facing camera is a 13MP wide-angle lens with a Dual-LED flash and can capture at 1080p at 30fps. While it does not feature Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), found on pricier phones, the Tecno Spark 40 Pro+ offers an expansive and natural camera experience that is very desirable for regular use and social media personalities.
BATTERY
Tecno Spark 40 Pro+ aims to keep its users powered all day long with a robust and long-lasting battery backed by versatile charging means. It has a colossal 5200mAh (milliampere-hour) battery, which provides more than enough power for all-day usage, easily handling day-to-day activities, multimedia watching, and even casual gaming without frequent recharging. Tecno also highlights the life of this battery, with its capacity to last more than 2,000 charge cycles, retaining over 80% of its initial capacity even after five years of constant use, stretching the life of the phone significantly and minimizing wasteful replacements.
Tecno Spark 40 Pro+ is also fast charging compatible. It also boasts 45W wired “Super Charging,” which lets the device fill up from zero to 100% in a remarkably fast 55 minutes. What truly sets it apart among its peers, however, is the inclusion of 30W wireless charging, something that’s typically reserved for premium phones, not budget or even mid-tier smartphones. That provides it with convenient, cable-free power recharges. Moreover, the phone also has 5W reverse wireless charging, and it can be utilized as a power bank to charge other devices such as earbuds or even another phone in a crisis situation. The availability of the option for 10W reverse wired charging provides an additional flexibility for power-sharing with other devices using a cable. It also features an “AI charging system” that adapts to user patterns to tailor charging activities for improved battery health and longevity. All this is packed in a complete battery and charging system that makes Tecno Spark 40 Pro+ an extremely practical device for anyone interested in prolonged power and kinetic recharging capabilities.
